      1. Fold a square in half vertically and open it. Bring the indicated lower corner to the center crease to mark the diagonal shown.

      2. Unfold that diagonal crease.

      Mark and cut the triangle

      1. Bring the upper corner to the marked crease as pictured, then open it.

      2. Fold the square upward in half and cut away the excess along the dotted guide.

      Precrease the triangle

      1. Open the cut piece into an equilateral triangle. Fold it in half in all three directions, opening each time.

      2. Raise the radial creases and gather the three sides inward to form the compact base.

      Open a petal pocket

      1. Squash the pocket flat. Fold its two lower edges to the middle, then unfold those folds.

      2. Open the lower flap upward.

      Lengthen all three petals

      1. Bring the pocket sides inward along the creases and flatten. Fold the small triangular section downward, then tuck it into the inner layer.

      2. Repeat the same sequence on the other two faces of the base.

      Narrow the petals

      1. Turn a layer sideways to expose a smooth face and rotate the model so the long points face upward.

      2. Bring both side edges toward the center. Repeat on the other faces.

      1. Spread the three petals and turn the small central triangles outward as shown.

      2. Make a second three-petal unit. Stack the two with their petals offset and secure the center with a little craft glue.

      Add paper stamens
