   Fold the square in half upward. Fold the right part diagonally up and then down, opening each fold to mark an intersection.

   Open the diagonal folds. Bring the opposite corner to the marked intersection, fold the flap back to align its edges, then fold the right side toward the left as shown.

   Fold the right side behind along the dotted guide. Cut away the excess along the indicated line, then open the paper into a pentagon.

   Bring the lower side upward to the two marked points and unfold. Repeat around all five sides. Raise the resulting creases to start a shallow star-shaped cup.

   Gather the sides toward the middle and lay all five points to the left in succession. Turn the paper over, then fold one small point downward along the guide.

   Open the fold and tuck that small point inside along the new crease. Repeat on the other four points. Make the diagonal crease shown on the pentagonal back.

   Fold each edge of the pentagon to the indicated inner crease, repeating around the paper. Turn the model over and fold the five sharp tips slightly behind.

   Gently open the central layers and adjust the petals. Curve and spread them evenly to form the finished blossom.
