Paper Tank Model

Prepare a square sheet.

Fold vertically in half, then unfold.

Fold the top and bottom edges to the indicated creases.

Press firmly, then open the paper.

Check the crease pattern.

Turn over and fold along the dotted crease lines.

Fold the right side to the left along the dotted line.

Fold the left side inward to meet the folded edge.

Fold the top and bottom edges along the dotted lines.

Flatten the base into the illustrated shape.

Take another square and divide it into thirds.

Cut off the rightmost strip along the crease.

Cut the larger remaining piece at its right-hand crease.

Fold the indicated piece in half to make a crease.

Check its folded shape.

Fold vertically from right to left.

Fold the upper-right and lower-right corners along the dotted lines.

Open to reveal the creases.

Push inward along the existing creases.

Fold both edges toward the center.

Check the shape and repeat the folds on the back.

Fold the upper triangle down, then unfold.

Fold the top layer downward.

Flatten into the shape shown.

Open and spread the middle section.

Make a small opening in the side.

Roll the large rectangular strip around a pen refill.

Glue its end to form a tube.

Wrap the small paper piece around the tube’s end to make the decorative barrel.

Check the finished tube.

Lay out the three completed components.

Place part 2 on top of part 1, with part 1’s opening next to the bottom of part 2.

Tuck the tabs extending from part 2 into both sides of part 1.

Press the joined pieces into the illustrated shape.

Open and spread the side openings of part 1.

Insert part 3 into part 2’s small opening to complete the model.
