Miniature Twisted Paper Rose

Start with a 5 cm square of thin paper. A larger square is easier for a first attempt.

Fold both diagonals and both straight center lines, then unfold.

Bring the straight folds inward and gather the sheet into a layered triangular base.

Press the layers neatly together with the long edge at the bottom.

Fold the side points toward the center, then open them. Lift the indicated pocket and flatten it downward along its creases.

Fold the upper layer of each small square upward. Raise the lower pointed flap, then repeat the same sequence on the back.

Turn a layer sideways like a page to expose a smooth face. Repeat on the other side of the packet.

Flatten the model into the small pointed shape shown, keeping the middle seam centered.

Bring the two side edges toward the center line.

Fold the small lower triangular flap upward against the narrowed sides.

Turn over and repeat the side folds and upward fold.

View the model from below. Pull the two sides apart gently in the direction of the arrows.

Spread the square at the bottom until it lies open and even.

Rotate the piece to expose the pointed folds at the flower's center.

Pinch the central points and turn them gently to create a rose-like spiral.

Adjust the petal positions and curl the outer edges outward. Repeat the rose and attach it to wire or a separate arrangement if desired.
